WITH THE ANTI-URANIUM
MAPPING PROJECT
Do not share more than you feel comfortable with. Your participation is for educational purposes with the intent of challenging colonial conquest and the imposition of capitalist property. By sharing your experience today, your are helping to make claims for resources and land, to demonstrate spatial injustice and inequality, and to promote your own vision of territory.
1.
Name, pronouns, age, location and cultural ethnic background (optional).
2.
Mark a place on the map where your story takes place.
3.
Feel free to respond to any of the following questions with a drawing, an emotion, thoughts, ideas, story or any collection of words that feels good to you.
Questions to consider when responding to the map:
-What people, places, or features tend to be excluded from “official” maps?
- How do you occupy or utilize the land? Can you mark this area on the map with annotations?
- Are there any sites/locations of importance that you would like to share and express why?
- What territories and resources are being encroached upon by the state and what corporations? What does this look like? Can you show this on the map?
- Have you or someone you know been impacted by uranium mining? If so, please mark the location on the map and write what feels comfortable to share.
- How have maps enforced colonial conquest and the imposition of capitalist
property relations around the world?
